Dar Ar Islam
It is therefore where continuing strife is the norm.
Dar ar islam. Dar al islam the term dar al islam which literally means the house or abode of islam came to signify islamic territory in juridical discussions. To put it simply dar al harb is understood as territory of war or chaos this is the name for the regions where islam does not dominate and where divine will is not observed. For the majority it is thus suggestive of a geopolitical unit in which islam is established as the religion of the state in contrast to dar al harb territory not governed by islam. The lexicon used by mainstream ir to research the muslim world is limited to the issue of jihad holy war and the presumed tripartite division of the world into dar al harb abode of war dar al islam abode of islam and dar al sulh abode of temporary peace which is limiting in itself by drawing on the western binaries of a world oscillating between conditions of war anarchy and state of nature as operative forces and peace.
By contrast dar al islam is a territory of peace this is the name for those territories where islam does dominate and where submission to god is observed. This mental division of the world into two regions persisted even after muslim political expansion had ended.
